Recent technical discussions and project updates from our engineering team.

The SA-36 surge arrester installation at the Pune plant is complete. The metal-oxide varistors passed the impulse test with a residual voltage of 28 kV. We are monitoring the leakage current for the next 48 hours.

For the Series G switchgear, we need to confirm the arc-resistant enclosure rating. The client specified IEC 62271-200 class IAC AFL 25 kA for 1 second. Please verify the test certificate.

The T-1500 transformer oil sample analysis shows no dissolved gas abnormalities. The on-load tap changer operated smoothly during the voltage regulation test. Next step is the partial discharge measurement.

Reminder: The surge counter calibration for the SA-36 units at the Chennai hub is scheduled for next Tuesday. Please bring the test set and the IEC 60099-4 compliance report.

The SF6 gas pressure in the Series G switchgear dropped by 0.2 bar overnight. Check for leaks at the sealing gaskets and the gas monitoring module. Report back by end of shift.

Client feedback on switchgear resilience

Manufacturing engineers share how our SF6 gas-insulated switchgear, three-phase transformers, and surge arresters maintain loop stability under transient overvoltage conditions.

“The Series G switchgear reduced our unplanned downtime by 40% — the arc-resistant enclosure and SF6 insulation handle switching surges without a single fault in two years.”

Atul Dev Persaud, Production Manager, Pune manufacturing hub

“We installed the T-1500 transformer for a continuous steel rolling line. The on-load tap changer keeps voltage within ±1% even when a nearby arc furnace kicks in.”

Hetan Chandra Nazareth, Electrical Engineer, Kharadi industrial zone

“The SA-36 surge arresters clipped every lightning-induced transient on our 33 kV feeder. No downstream equipment damage since commissioning — exactly what we needed.”

Dhanush Prasad Yogi, Plant Supervisor, heavy machinery unit

Trusted by manufacturing hubs across India

Engineers and plant managers rely on Mcnae switchgears, transformers, and arresters for loop resilience against transient overvoltages.

“We installed the Series G switchgear in our Pune plant two years ago. Zero unplanned downtime from switching surges since then.”

“The T-1500 transformer handles our 24/7 extrusion line without voltage dips. On-load tap changers made a real difference for process stability.”

“SA-36 arresters on our 33 kV feeders cut lightning‑related breaker trips by 80%. Silicone housing holds up well in coastal humidity.”

“Mcnae’s coordination study helped us size arresters correctly for our transformer yard. No flashovers in three monsoon seasons.”

“We replaced an older SF6 bay with Series G. The arc‑resistant enclosure gave our team confidence during live‑bus maintenance.”
